EOD Hero was inspired from the death of a good friend and fellow EOD technician, Chief Petty Officer Patrick Wade.  Although many of the EOD casualties were friends or acquaintances, when Pat died I felt I had to memorialize him.  This website started with Pat and before I published it, I decided to include all the EOD operators killed in the global war on terrorism. 

 

The joint EOD community is small and friendships span across all four services.  Myself, as a former active duty EOD Technician, all the EOD casualties are hard to bear.  Thanks to all the people that have contributed to the content of this website.  I have had contact with many of the families of our heroes.  Thank you for your sacrifices.  This website is for them, their friends and fellow EOD technicians saving lives throughout the world.
