"The names listed below are of those individuals who gave their lives in the performance of their duties as Bomb Disposal (BD)/Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technicians. In most cases, the individuals listed are not classified as heroes because they were killed while performing their duties as BD/EOD technicians. It really makes little difference whether they were called heroes or not; for each and every one of them was a member of a very special organization. The BD/EOD organization has always been very unique in the U.S. Air Force because it carries out its mission during both war and peace-time. When the call for help goes out, EOD can be counted on to respond regardless of how great the danger might be." |
