SSGT Bryan Berky

It is with great sorrow I announce we have lost another EOD brother today in Afghanistan.

 

SSgt Bryan Berky was killed in action on 12September 2009 while serving as a member of 755 EOD OL-B, Team Vendetta based out of Farah in Western Afghanistan.  

Bryan was a superior EOD technician, taking care of his team and others before himself.  

He could talk to anyone and make a new friend in a matter of a minute.  Bryan would make you laugh and smile no matter what the situation and approached life with a joyful attitude.  Yet when it was time to take care of business, he was a professional Airman to the core.  

He led with integrity and excellence.  As a new proud father, he was excited to raise his son but also fearful as most first time dads are.  He couldn't wait to get home in order to teach and play with his son and always told us how proud he was of Harrison.  

He was a loving husband, with Erin being his lifelong love.  The two were perfect together and their joy and love were evident to anyone who met them.  He will be deeply missed by his team leader, TSgt Jennifer Burch; team member, SrA Jeff Queer; 755 EOD OL-B Flight, Ellsworth EOD Flight, and the entire EOD community. Please pray for his family during this time of mourning.
